Answer the following questions:-
 1: Explain how human activities have affected the depletion of flora .
Answer :   1 - Human have cleared the jungles for own living and the luvings of their animals as well as for construction of their houses .Too much destruction of trees has distributed the ecosystem and created various health problems for themselves.
2 - The agricultural expansion during the colonial rule and even after independence proved one of the major causes of the depletion of the flora and fauna .
3 - The great demand of sleeper for the expansion of railways and ship building during the colonial rule also inflicted a great damage to the Indian forests.
4 - The burning of fossil fuels in large quantity, automobile exhausts , gaseous effuents from factories have led to  pollution of air and water .
5- As a result of the removal of the original plant cover and it's replacement by a single crop ,the biological diversity has been reduced and a single crop has become Vulnerable to pests and disease.

2 : What are the steps taken by government to conserve flora and fauna of the country?
Answer :  To protect flora and fauna,the Indian Wildlife Protection Act was implemented in 1972 ,with various provisions of protecting habitats.

Central and many state government have established national parks and wildlife sanctuaries.

The central Government has announced several projects for protecting specific animals,which were gravely threatened, including the tiger ,the one horned rhinoceros,the Kashmir stage ,the Asiatic lion etc .

Most recently,the Indian elephant,black buck the great Indian bustard and the snow leopards etc . have been under full or partial legal protection against hunting and trade throughout India .

An all India list of protected species was also published.The thrust of the program was towards protecting the remaining population of certain endangered species by banning hunting, giving legal protection to their habitats and restricting trade in Wildlife.

3 : Describe the different types of plant and animal species found in India.
Answer : 1- Normal : These include those whose population levels are considered to be normal for their survival,such as cattle,sal ,Pune etc.

2- Endangered species  : These include those species which are in danger of extinction. The several of such species is difficult if the negative factors that have led to a decline in their population continue to operate. For example, black buck , crocodile,wild ass etc .

3: Vulnerable species   : These include the species whose population has declined to levels from where it is likely to move into the endangered category in the near future, if the negative factors continue to operate.

4 : Rare species   : They may move into the endangered or vulnerable catagory.

5: Endemic species : These are found in some particular areas usually isolated by natural or geographical barrier.
