Meaning of Important Words .
1 : Forest - Extensive area covered with spontaneously grown trees .
2 : Biodiversity - It is the sum total of all the varieties of species of plant ,animals and micro- organisms living on the earth .
3 : Sanctuary - A reserved area for preserving natural beauty .
4 : Flora - Plants of a particular region or period are referred to as flora.
5 : Funna - Species of animal of a region are known as fauna .
6: Normal Species - The species whose population levels are considered to be normal for their survival,such as cattle,sal, pine , rodents etc
7 : Endangered species - The species which are in danger of extinction.
8 : Rare Species - Species with small population may move into the endangered or vulnerable category if the negative factors affecting them continue to operate.
9 : Vulnerable Species - These are some species whose population have declined to levels from where it is likely to move into the endangered category in the near future if the negative factors continue to operate.
10 : Endemic Species - These are species which are only found in some particular areas usually isolated by natural or geographical barrier.
11 : Extinct Species - These are special which have vanished from a local area , region , country , continent or the whole earth.
12 : Reserved Forests - Reserved Forests are the forest that are regarded as the most valuable as far as the conservation of forest and wildlife resources are concerned.
13 : Protected Forest - The forest land that is protected from any further depletion.
14 : Unclassed Forest - These are other forest and wasteland that belong to both government and private individuals and communities.
15 : Biosphere Reserve - It is a multi purpose protected areas created to deal with the issues of conservation of biodiversity and its sustainable use .
16 : Mangrove Forest - These are tidal forest found the Ganga Brahmaputra delta called Sunderbans of West Bengal.
17 : Wildlife Sanctuary - An area where wild animals and birds are kept in their natural environment.
18 : National Park - Reserved forests where natural vegetation and wildlife are preserved in their natural environment.
19 : Biosphere - It is the narrow belt of living organisms.
20 : Vegetation - The assemblage of plants species living in association with each other in a given environmental frame.
21 : Natural Vegetation - The naturally grown trees , plants and shrubs in an areas .
22 : Poaching - An illegal activities of hunting of animals for skin or bones for economic benifit.
23 : Sacred Groves - Nature worship is an age old tribal belief that all creations of nature have to be protected. Such beliefs have preserved several virgin forest in pristine form called sacred groves.
